It’s been 50 years since the Vietnam War. Flan, Ali and Spida had the honour to be joined by Vietnam Veteran Chris Madden. Chris has received an Order of Australia which honours his service to Australia. This award recognises people whose actions have made a significant impact in our society with only 140 people awarded an AO each year.
Chris tells his story about how he joined the war, saying “I was a teacher in a one teacher school in the bush, and a postman walked in and he said you’re in trouble. He handed me an envelope and when I opened it, it said you’re conscripted to go to jail for two years or you go to the army for two years”.
