Dayne Zorko has stepped down as the skipper of the Brisbane Lions, and he’s named the player he think should step into the role going forward.
“I felt with the projection of the list and how it was all going, that it was my time to hand it over and let someone else take over the job.
“If I held onto it one more year, potentially it could be my last year at the club.
“We wanted to be respected again as a club in the AFL… I’m super proud on being able to lead that charge and change the club mindset.”
There are three names being floated for the next captain of the Lions, with vice captain Harris Andrews and midfield stars Lachie Neale and Hugh McCluggage leading the charge.
