Wendell Sailor gave a passionate plea to how concussions are effecting the NRL on The Rush Hour but explained his own personal fears and concerns.
LISTEN HERE:
‘Over the last few years my mindset has changed,’ said Sailor.
‘One of my good mates, Mark [Spudd] Carroll, appealed to me.
‘He said mate I need you to get scanned, but I said that I was only a winger.
‘But then they found things in [Carroll’s] head.’
The heart-to-heart chat between two of the game’s greats alerted Sailor into action.
‘Next week I’m going to get scanned, I’m not sure what they’re going to find because I’ve had a few head knocks.’
But Wendell Sailor had one last message to all footy fans out there.
‘I know we love rugby league but can we please not say the game’s getting soft,
‘I’m glad I don’t play in this era.’
