Premier Peter Malinauskas has confirmed Adelaide will continue to have a LIV Golf tournament for the next three years, despite the merger news with the PGA.
Joining the Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewey and Jars, the Premier remains confident that Adelaide will still benefit from the agreement.
“The success of the LIV Golf here at Grange undoubtedly accelerated between PGA Tour and LIV Golf and that’s only upside for us.” Premier Malinauskas said.
Greg Blewett presses Premier Malinauskas for confirmation that Adelaide’s tournaments will be honoured by LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman.
“So Premier you’ve had contact with Greg, is that right? And has he assured you it’s definitely going ahead at least for next year?”
In a text message with Greg Norman, the Premier assures that it’s all systems go for next year and for the three years ahead.
“That of course means that Adelaide will have its contractual obligation honoured where we’re contracted for at least another three tournaments,” Premier Malinauskas said.
The golfing world was rocked by the deal between the main professional tours, Europe’s DP World Tour, PGA and LIV Golf, settling on a deal after a two-year civil war.
