Speaking during Triple M’s call of Manly Sea Eagles & Wests Tigers, journalist Michael Chammas explained the possibility of a massive double Tigers exit.
LISTEN HERE:
A 2023 acquisition in Isaiah Papali’i and Origin representative Stefano Utoikamanu have had whispers of potential exit.
Yet a possible homecoming for both in Parramatta Eels could be on the cards.
Asked by Andy Raymond about the futures of Stefano Utoikamanu & Isaiah Papali’i, Chammas said this.
“I don’t know if either will leave before the end of next season,” said Chammas.
“But if the Tigers struggle next year, lookout.”
Speaking on Papali’i, Chammas explained that another suitor might be in the equation.
“His wife is in New Zealand,
“There’s been talk about the Warriors looking at him.
“Speaking to people at Parramatta, they’re under the impression that if Isaiah Papali’i had the chance he would go back.”
Whilst the clause in Stefano Utoikamanu’s contract will prove very problematic for the Tigers.
If the merger club again misses the finals next year, he’ll be able to walk as a free agent.
