Shane Flanagan Wants To Take Tyrell Sloan “To Dark Places” | David Riccio’s Mail On The Dragons

With Shane Flanagan recently appointed to take the helm of the St George-Illawarra Dragons for the 2024 season, there will undoubtedly be plenty of attention on how he shapes the club over the off-season.

On Triple M NRL’s The Saturday Scrum, David Riccio shared his latest mail on the club, reporting that youngster Tyrell Sloan is already in Flanagan’s sights for a big off-season.

“We know Tyrell is such a promising talent as Dragons fullback,” Riccio said.

“Shane speaks about wanting to take Tyrell to ‘dark places’ in the pre-season.

“It’s based around wanting to get Tyrell to a defensive level [to which] his game needs to go to become an elite level fullback.

“We know he’s a special talent, but he has had some defensive flaws in his game, and it’ll be a huge pre-season under Shane Flanagan.”
