“One Of The Dumbest Decisions Ever” | Woodsy On Potential Changes To The Kick-Off

Blues legend Aaron Woods has torn shreds off a newly rumoured change to the iconic kick-off aimed to reduce the impact of collisions.

“This is one of the dumbest decisions ever if it comes through.” said Woods on Triple M’s The Rush Hour.

The proposed rule change would grant the receiving team a 7 tackle set if the ball lands between the 20 metre line and the dead ball line, incentivising shorter kick offs.

“State of Origin you wait for that coin toss and whoever wins the coin toss you know what they’re going to do – they’re going to kick off.”

“It’s a contact sport…this is the risk the players take.”
