Aaron Woods on The Rush Hour believes that State of Origin pressure may have gotten the better of Cronulla Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes.
LISTEN HERE:
After losing Game One and the return of Parramatta Eels’ halfback Mitchell Moses, pressure has mounted on Hynes to retain his number 7 shirt for the New South Wales Blues.
And as the Sharks fell in a close 30-28 loss to the Dolphins, with Hynes missing a conversion on the sideline, Woodsy stated that he may have played himself out of Game Two.
“He looks he doesn’t have confidence in himself,” said Woodsy.
“I think he’s struggling with that.
“When the Sharks scored that last try [in the corner], I thought, please don’t score it because I just don’t think he’s in the right headspace to kick the goal.”
When asked if he thinks Hynes get stagefright in big matches, Woodsy replied with, “I think he does.”
“You look at the last two Origin games and you look at the Sharks’ record. The last two seasons, they haven’t won a Finals match.”
