Triple M’s Mark Geyer has declared Billy Slater’s “honeymoon” period as Queensland Maroons coach is over.
Not because was his Queensland side was thumped 38-18 in Game II of Origin but because of comments Slater made post-match.
Slater was icy cold when asked about potential changes to the Queensland side for Game III.
“I haven’t even thought of that. We’re still Queenslanders,” Slater told the media.
And it’s the ‘we’re still Queenslanders’ comment that according to MG signaled the end of Slater’s honeymoon period.
“That is a man, who’s honeymoon period is over!”
