Cowboys star Valentine Holmes has found himself in hot water after he uploaded a picture of himself holding a what appeared to be a small bag containing white powder in his mouth.

Brent Read gave an update on the situation on Triple M’s Monday Scrum.

“He’s meeting with the NRL today to talk about what happened, what didn’t happen.” said Read

“It was a prank gone wrong apparently…that’s what he’s suggesting.”

Despite the uproar cause by the picture, it seems likely that the talented outside back will escape any punishment from the NRL as their elicit testing policy ends once the season is over.

“Val was actually on holidays when this happened…if they wanted to test Val to make sure everything is kosher they can not do that.”
