Triple M’s and Broncos legend Gorden Tallis has blasted the NRL’s match review committee after Sharks skipper Dale Finucane and Warriors’ back rower Marata Niukore were hit with suspensions for hip-drop tackles.
LISTEN HERE:
Finucane faces a minimum three match-ban, while Niukore faces two weeks on the sideline with an early guilty plea.
Both players were hit with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charges, but Finucane is looking at a harsher penalty due to prior offences.
Tallis explained and argued why both incidents weren’t “classic hip-drops”, before urging the pair to fight the charges.
“That’s not a hip drop… If I’m both of these guys, I’m fighting it!” Tallis said on LiSTNR’s Footy Talk League Podcast.
