Leading rugby league journalist and Triple M’s own Brent Read joined the Rush Hour to address concerning reports surrounding St George Illawarra Dragons’ head coach Anthony ‘Hook’ Griffin.
LISTEN HERE:
According to paper talk, the Saints have told Griffin that he has to “reapply for his job” in 2024 but Ready provided clarity to the situation.
‘[To] reapply for his job is a little bit of a stretch,’ said Read.
‘It was pointed out to him in the pre season that he had to justify a new contract,
‘It’s as simple as that, that’s the application process.’
As Ready explained that the reports may be exaggerated to a degree, there is truth in pressure being firmly on Griffin.
‘If Hook can get the Dragons flying there’s every chance he’ll get another year,
‘But I think a lot of us don’t think he’ll be there next year, as I don’t think that will happen.’
