The Lord’s Ashes Test was meant to be a special occasion for Nathan Lyon, who was playing his 100th consecutive Test – the first specialist bowler to do so.
But a serious calf injury ruled him out of the second Test, with scans later revealing he’d be sidelined for 10-12 weeks.
Despite being “shattered”, Lyon says his teammates didn’t let the injury get in the way of a good sledge that kept the 35-year-old smiling during a difficult time.
