Ahead of the Easter Monday clash between the Hawks and the Cats, Isaac Smith explained the reason for his move between the bitter rivals in 2020.
“It was a big decison,” Smith said.
“I was at Hawthorn which was a great club, but they were going through some different pains at that stage.
“My wife and I decided the best move for us would be to make a bit of a change, we were both country people.
“Went down there and had a great three years, a very successful three years.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity I had to go to Geelong, and very grateful for my time at Hawthorn.
“They still are two great clubs, two big clubs. They always fill their stands which is great, and I’ve been very fortunate in my footy career.”
