Dragons star Zac Lomax says he’s confident the club will announce its next head coach in the coming weeks but admits behind the scenes he hasn’t been part of any discussions surrounding the decision.
LISTEN HERE:
Lomax was speaking on Triple M’s Sunday Sin Bin about the club’s coaching saga before former teammate and rugby league great James Graham quizzed the star centre on whether the club had approached him over the search.
“Not really, it’s well above my pay grade,” Lomax said.
Asked later by journalist James Hooper over whether the club had spoken with the playing group on the “process of what’s going on” with the coaching search, Lomax replied: “There hasn’t been much talk” before adding “As players, we’re worried about training the best we can”.
Lomax’s response comes amid reports that former premiership-winning coach Shane Flanagan is leading the race to take over at the club.
Ryan Carr is the current caretaker coach after the club sacked Anthony Griffin.
