Leading NRL journalist Brent Read believes Penrith’s bid to re-sign Jarome Luai will prove “difficult”, with a salary cap squeeze set to hit the club amid a wave of new deals.

Read revealed details of a new deal for forward Scott Sorensen, along with the latest on a potential big extension for fullback Dylan Edwards.
However, those deals could see an awkward situation unfold as Luai nears his own contract talks, according to Read.
“There’s going to be some interest in Jarome Luai, that’s going to be a real challenge [for Penrith],” Read told Triple M’s Rush Hour.
