“Brad Wanted A Two Year Deal, They Didn’t Want To Give Him A Two Year Deal” | Brent Read On Fittler Blues Exit

The details of Brad Fittler’s shock exit from the NSW coaching ranks have emerged.

Brent Read revealed on Triple M’s Saturday Scrum that the length of the new deal was where the two parties couldn’t come to terms.

“Brad went to them with a proposal that would involve Phil Gould and Laurie Daley as his coaching staff.” said Read

“They were happy with that, but Brad wanted a two year deal, they didn’t want to give him a two year deal.’

“They wanted to give him one year, which you can understand given he’s lost two series in a row and three of his past four series.”
