Broken bones. Bouncers for six. Fear. That’s just part of what Brad Haddin remembers from keeping to a young tearaway by the name of Brett Lee.
Speaking on this week’s edition of Willow Talk, former NSW and Australia gloveman Haddin was asked about the fastest spell of bowling he’d ever faced, and answered with a memory not from batting but from keeping to one of the fastest bowlers of all time.
“I’ve seen Shaun Tait, faced Shoaib Akhtar and this was different,” Haddin tells Willow Talk.
“I’d never seen anything that fast.
“After about three balls, Steven (Waugh) goes, ‘Well, he’s in the next Test team.'”
Haddin also shares the fastest spell he’s faced as a batter and the time when Michael Clarke was egging him on against some serious heat from Dale Steyn.
