The Friday Huddle discussed the controversial open hand strike from Scott Pendlebury on Brisbane’s Lachie Neale last night.
Barrett believes that Pendlebury should cop a week for striking to stamp the action out of the game.
“I feel he should be missing a game of footy, Scott Pendlebury,” Barrett said.
Dunstall thinks he’ll receive a fine, but in the near future something like this will be suspendible.
“I expect him to get a fine,” Dunstall responded.
“If we want to discourage kids from doing things and clean up the game properly at the grassroots level, anything that remotely resembles a striking action has to cop one week.”
“But in this instance you can’t all of the sudden start now.”
