AFL.com.au news breaker Cal Twomey told the Rush Hour about Fremantle’s Lachie Schultz being linked with a trade to Collingwood — despite hitting a contract trigger to ensure another year in the west.
Schultz was Fremantle’s second top goal scorer of the year, booting 33 majors from his 23 games.
Only youngster Jye Amiss kicked more, with 41 goals.
Schultz also averaged just under 16 touches a game and racked up 17 goal assists.
Never miss anything with the Best of Triple M Footy playlist:
“He’s gonne take Jack Ginnivan’s spot at least, isn’t he?” Cal asked.
“Norm Smith Medallist in Bobby Hill, he’s not displacing him.”
MORE TRADE NEWS:
Cal Twomey also gave updates on the picks that will most likely be used for Brodie Grundy and Esava Ratugolea, a full explanation of the Dogs/Gold Coast pick swap that saw picks 4 and 10 change hands, and a comprehensive wrap of the whole trade period.
