In a special Valentine’s Day episode of Turia Pitt is Hard Work, the motivational athlete sat down with Aussie actor and cancer research fundraiser Samuel Johnson to discuss love in all its forms, including grief and loss.
During their chat, the pair also discussed Sam’s latest anthology book Dear Lover: a collection of love letters written by notable Australians, including Turia herself!
In a letter to her husband, Michael, Turia writes about falling in love, their first kiss, how they set up their lives together, and then how their lives changed forever after her grassfire accident.
“I only have the life I have today because of you… It’s the story of two people who were thrown into a hell hole but somehow made it out with their love in tact,” Turia wrote.
“If there’s one thing I’m trying to teach my sons, it’s to say how you feel and to tell people you love how much you love them.”
