Fresh from his appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, champion boxer and mental health advocate Harry Garside has sat down for a raw and emotional interview on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show.
Speaking about his loss at the Paris Games, Garside explained how finding self acceptance during the lowest point of his life helped prepare him for missing out on the Gold.
“You write about it in your book [The Good Fight], when you were arrested when you came back from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ … you were arrested at the airport,” Jess began.
“Yeah, that was probably the reason why I’m taking this loss from Paris so well because that was like the lowest of lows,” Garside shared.

“That is like earth shattering stuff, right? That’s almost worse than a death in the family. But the way it happened and what I was getting accused of was just so heavy.
“…To look back now and just see realise more so that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was really the- I wouldn’t say the death of my ego, but it was just like the time in my life where I actually had to step up for myself and become my own friend and have my own back.”
So just how did Harry process and manage such a difficult time in his life? Take a listen below:
