This December will mark eight years since Sydney’s Lindt Cafe siege which saw gunman Man Haron Monis hold 18 people hostage in the Martin Place chocolate cafe, resulting in the deaths of Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson.
In the latest episode of Turia Pitt is Hard Work, survivor Louisa Hope sat down with Turia to share her experience of how the day’s events unfolded, from sitting down with her mother for breakfast through to the moment police stormed the building and finally, waking up in hospital.
Speaking with Turia, Louisa opened up about the three times she thought she was going to die, her interactions with the gunman, and the heroic reason why cafe manager Tori Johnson chose not to escape.
