The Manly, NSW Blues and Australian Kangaroos star has had his spectacular career interrupted many times with injuries.

Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold is expected to bring Tommy Turbo back into the side after another lengthy layoff, but not in his usual position of fullback, but in the centres.

Much debate around the last few seasons has revolved around the notion of protecting Trbojevic’s body in the centres, a position he’s flourished for when donning the NSW Blues jersey.

And even though there are question marks surrounding if he can have the same impact without wearing the number one jersey, Todd Carney explained that having Turbo on the edge may be a blessing in disguise for Manly Sea Eagles.

“It’s going to be a massive addition to the Manly team,” started Carney.

“All of a sudden he’s standing out there [to the side], with space, [screaming] give me the ball!

“Cherry-Evans, to Luke Brooks, to Trbjoevic.

“It gives him a bit of freedom to play a bit of footy and eyes up.”
