It’s expected that the Newcastle Knights will part ways with coach Adam O’Brien.
So why did their chairman Geoff Coburn publicly back O’Brien a few days ago?
Both Michael Chammas & Danny Weidler on Triple M NRL’s Journos took umbrage to those comments and questioned if there’s disorder behind the scenes in Newcastle.
“How does a chairman of the Newcastle Knights and come out and say, what, the coach is going to be there for the next couple of years?” asked Weidler.
“He said he was safe.”
Whilst Chammas added, “I got told that [Coburn] went out of his was to get those quotes out there to back Adam.”
But also, O’Brien’s manager Isaac Moses is also the agent of assistant coach and front-runner for the vacancy, Blake Green.
“You think that the way Isaac would operate, is he can exit Adam O’Brien and then maybe ship his other client, that would be a good result for him.”
The whole situation regarding the Newcastle Knights is covered in depth by The Journos!
