The Warriors are looking to to lock up halfback Luke Metcalf long term before rival clubs have the chance to pounce.
“The hope is that they can get something knocked over obviously before November 1st.” said Brent Read on Triple M’s Saturday Scrum.
“He would be an ideal target for the Perth Bears, his name has already been linked to the Perth Bears.”
Ready thinks the Wahs are in the box seat to retain Metcalf, who is reportedly very settled in Auckland.
“From what I understand he’s pretty happy over there, it’s just a matter of now working out a deal.”
