“He Was Genuinely Annoyed” | Brent Read On Michael Maguire’s ‘Glasshouses’ Sledge

The Origin war of words has erupted after Michael Maguire’s ‘glasshouses’ sledge at Billy Slater after the Blues tactics in containing Reece Walsh have been criticised by the Maroons camp.

Brent Read thinks Madge was legitimately angry at the barbs directed his way.

“He was genuinely annoyed by the comments that were said after the game about Joe Sua’ali’i and even the Nate Myles stuff where he attacked Joe Sua’ali’i as he walked off the field.” said Read

“Madge was genuinely annoyed by that and he clearly wanted it out there that he was annoyed.”

Ryan Girdler thinks the war of words just adds a little more spice to the second Origin game at the MCG.

“I think there’ll be a little bit of buy in from the players now too that it’s become
a little bit more personal.”
