Veteran rugby league journalist Danny Weidler has covered many Origin games throughout his long career, many State of Origin deciders in Brisbane included.
Though as he explained on Footy Talk’s Journos Shows, Weidler has never seen a more “relaxed” NSW Blues team heading into a venue they have an abysmal record at.
LISTEN HERE:
“I haven’t seen a more, and I hope this isn’t a bad sign, but a more relaxed Blues team,” said Weidler.
“They are chilling, maybe it’s the Penrith boys.”
The NSW Blues squad for Game Three consists of seven current/past Penrith Panthers who were apart of the club’s current three-year premiership run, and Weidler believes the club’s culture, confidence and swagger has rubbed off the rest of the team.
“That whole Penrith crew have been through so many campaigns now and a lot of high level stuff.”
