The Victorian government has ordered an external review of the state’s body that oversees VCE exams following a third year of blunders.
A production failure has allowed some students to access questions ahead of their exams that were very similar to what appeared on official tests.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) posted several sample cover sheets to its website, which were found to have transparent text that could be viewed when copied and pasted into a text editor.

First reported by the Herald Sun, its understood business management, specialist maths and legal studies were among the subjects impacted.
Students and teachers have reported that the questions were identical or similar to those on the 2024 exams.
Victorian education minister Ben Carroll said, “students deserved better,” and ordered a complete review of the VCAA.
“It is clear to me that some students have been let down as a result of these errors and that is completely unacceptable,” he said.
The review is expected to examine the structure and operations of the VCAA.
Mr Carroll said the government would also install an independent monitor to oversee the 2025 exam period.
