Two people have been left injured after a light aircraft crashed during landing efforts on a remote Great Barrier Reef island.
Queensland Ambulance received calls around 7:30am on Monday morning saying the plane had flipped while landing on Lizard Island.
Ten people were on board, including one child, and were all assessed by emergency services.
Queensland Ambulance Service acting assistant commissioner Brina Keating said one person sustained a head injury and another an arm injury.
The other passengers suffered and were being treated for minor injuries.
Two rescue helicopters have responded to the incident, with Ms Keating saying access to the island was challenging as it can only be reached by aircraft.
