Two men dead in rough waters after Victoria’s wild weather

Two men have died in rough waters in Melbourne’s South as Victoria was lashed with wild weather.  
 
Emergency services were called to Port Phillip, at around five pm yesterday, where the men were found unresponsive just off Frankston Beach.

They were taken to shore but could not be revived with Frankston Mayor Kris Bolam issuing a statement last night extending his sympathies to the men’s families and saying it appeared they had been swept off a pier.  
 
The drownings happened while most of Victoria was under a severe weather warning, with some parts experiencing winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour:
