Two arrested over infamous ‘Pam the bird’ graffiti

Two men have been arrested in connection with the notorious “Pam the Bird” graffiti incidents that have been seen in Melbourne and Geelong.

Victoria Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Yarraville on Thursday, charging him with over 50 offences including criminal damage, burglary, theft, and stealing a motor vehicle.

The car theft charges stem from a December incident when a vehicle, reportedly stolen, was driven into a restaurant’s front window on Barkly Street, Footscray. The car was spray-painted with the message: “We don’t accept cash here.”

A second man, aged 39, from Abbotsford, was also taken into custody. He faces over 20 charges related to graffiti vandalism on suburban trains and an office building.

During raids at properties in Yarraville and Abbotsford, police recovered spray paint, illegal fireworks, abseiling gear, and property believed to be linked to criminal activity.

The Yarraville man is said to have caused more than $100,000 in property damage. Authorities also allege he scaled the iconic clock tower at Flinders Street Station in July 2024 and defaced the heritage-listed building.

The “Pam the Bird” graffiti has appeared on numerous sites across Melbourne, including the Cheese Stick column on CityLink, a building in Docklands, and silos in Geelong. Police also suspect the man is linked to several other incidents of graffiti on suburban trains.

Both men will appear in court today.
