Train commuters in Adelaide are set to face disruptions on Thursday, April 11, 2024, due to the industrial action initiated by certain drivers employed by the private contractor Keolis Downer Adelaide.
Adelaide Metro, the city’s public transport operator, received final confirmation yesterday morning that industrial action will lead to the suspension of train services between 10am and 2pm.
Normal train operations are anticipated to resume after 3pm.
In response to the impending disruptions, Adelaide Metro is working to minimise inconvenience for passengers.
However, due to the timing of the action, there will be limited availability of spare buses and drivers to operate substitute bus services.
Bus services will be deployed every 30 minutes to hourly, depending on the line, starting from 9am on Thursday until 3pm.
Commuters are urged to plan ahead and explore alternative transport options, including regular bus services, trams, or arranging transportation with family or friends.
Passengers can also seek assistance or make inquiries by calling the Adelaide Metro Infoline at 1300 311 108 or visiting the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre at Adelaide Railway Station, which is open daily from 7am to 8pm.
