Three people have died in a horror crash near Noosa involving a stolen vehicle which is alleged to have been linked to a carjacking.
At least three vehicles have collided in a brutal crash on the Bruce Highway just south of Gympie in the early hours of Friday morning.
Three people have been killed and a man in his 30’s has been transported to Gympie Hospital to be treated for severe head injuries.
According to police, one of the vehicles involved in the collision is alleged to have been stolen during the carjacking of a family.
Police issued a search for a Isuzi MU-X after a man with a knife allegedly threatened a woman and her three kids before fleeing in the vehicle.
The family are not believed to have been injured during the ordeal.
Southbound lanes on the Bruce Highway will remain closed as police continue their investigation.
