A 17-year-old girl has been charged with domestic violence related murder following the death of a 10-year-old girl at a home in NSW.
It was just before 4pm on Monday that emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing in Lake Macquarie, south-west of Newcastle.
Ambulance rushed to treat the 10-year-old girl who had suffered multiple stab wounds, however she tragically died at the scene.
Police arrested a 17-year-old girl at the home and she was taken in for questioning.
The teen has this morning been charged and refused bail. She is expected to appear at a children’s court today.
