A large-scale search for a 26-year-old man who went missing while walking through a national park in south-east Queensland has entered its third day.
Rory Lane was walking through Lamington National Park on the Gold Coast with a friend at around 5PM on Saturday before the pair became separated.
Police established a search a short time later with Queensland Police, State Emergency Services and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services finding no sign of the 26-year-old.
Gold Coast police Chief Superintendent told ABC news that police are extremely concerned for Mr Lane’s well-being.
“We understand he has no physical ailments but he wouldn’t have been prepared for two nights overnight in Canungra,” he said.
“He doesn’t have a phone on him. He had a backpack but we understand there wasn’t sufficient food or additional clothing in the backpack, so we do have concerns for his health and we want to try to locate him today.”
Police have described Mr Lane as Caucasian, 175 centimetres tall, brown hair and blue eyes and was believed to have been wearing a grey jumper with a backpack at the time of his disappearance.
Anyone who may have seen Mr Lane around the time of his disappearance is being urged to contact police.
