Relief For Victoria As Easing Weather Conditions Forecasted Following Floods

Weather conditions across Victoria are expected to ease over the coming days, bringing relief to much of the state which has been battered with heavy rainfall.

Providing an update to media on Tuesday, senior meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), Michael Efron, said it was “good news on the weather front over the next few days”.

Mr Efron said much of the weather across Victoria had settled on Tuesday, with there only a slight chance of some isolated thunderstorms over the far northeast of the state.

It’s expected the easing conditions will continue through to Wednesday and Thursday, with again a slight chance of isolated rainfall and storms in the state’s far east and northeast.

“Friday and into the weekend, showers and storm activity is likely to become a little bit more extensive over eastern and north-eastern districts,” Mr Efron said.

“With that activity we could see heavier rainfall but certainly not as much, not as extensive as what we have seen over the last few days.”

Mr Efron did warn the rainfall and storms forecasted for Friday could intensify across the weekend once again over eastern and north-eastern districts.

“With that activity we could see some heavier rainfall but certainly not as much and as excessive as we have seen over the last few days,” he said.
