Public warning as unregistered botox practitioner hospitalises three people

A warning has been issued to people who have received botox injections from unregistered practitioner Ms Norsafiza Binti Zakaria.

The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (the Commission) alleges that Ms Zakaria, who operates under numerous aliases, has been administating injections at residential addresses in NSW and Victoria.

The warning came after three people who seen Ms Zakaria were hospitalised with side effects from the botox injections. One, who was admitted in intensive care, remains in hospital while the other two have been discharged.

Ms Zakaria, who operates under Natasha Scha, Zakaria Scha, and Scha Zakaria Beauty Spa uses WhatsApp and other social media platforms to book her clients.

If you have received treatment from Ms Zakaria and have concerns about your health, seek medical attention immediately.

Side effects may include: progressive weakness, difficulty swallowing, drooping eyelids, blurred or double vision and difficulty breathing.

If you experience any of these symptoms, its advised to go to your nearest emergency department or call Triple Zero (000).
