Latest polling by The Guardian has revealed about half of respondents are in favour of changing the stage 3 tax cuts to help low- and middle-income earners.
It’s probably not too surprising, given the original tax cuts were going to be mainly benefiting people at the top end of town and those on higher incomes.
However, the problem is Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and several of his ministers had promised they were going to keep the tax cuts as legislated by Scott Morrison and his government in 2019.
Last week, that promise was broken.
