Police have released CCTV footage as they continue to investigate the suspicious death of an 87-year-old Noosa man over the weekend.
John Kerr was found in the early hours of Sunday morning on Hastings Street suffering from severe injuries.
Members of the public attempted to help the man until paramedics arrived but he passed away at the scene.
Police believe the alleged attack was random and have a person in custody who is yet to be charged.
In an attempt to gather more information, police have released CCTV footage of people who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
Sunshine Coast Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield told ABC news that the people in the video are not suspects.
“These people aren’t suspected in any way, shape or form. We just know that they’ve been in the area that time,” he said.
“They could be interstate people who haven’t watched local news, so we’re hoping that this release of footage may assist us in identifying these people.”
Police are set to return to the scene of the incident where they hope to locate witnesses.
