Water police boarded the 14-metre yacht and discovered the deceased individuals, believed to be in their 50s or 60s.

The identities of the pair remain unknown as police work to notify next of kin and conduct further investigations.

Authorities were alerted when the two individuals failed to return home after spending Monday night on the yacht.

Fire and Rescue NSW personnel were also called due to concerns about possible fumes on board the vessel.

A crime scene has been established on the yacht, and several items have been collected for forensic examination.

Meanwhile, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the identities of the two people and the exact causes of death.

The police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
