Police are on the hunt for five men after a man was shot and a woman was beaten with a bat inside their home in Sydney’s west.
According to police, five men are alleged to have to broken in to the home in Chester Hill at around 4:40PM on Thursday afternoon.
The men are then alleged to have threatened the husband and wife with several weapons including a gun.
The 46-year-old woman was then allegedly struck with a baseball bat before another man shot the 48-year-old male occupant of the house.
The man is believed to have suffered a minor gunshot wound while the woman is being treated for head and back injuries.
The men were chased away from the home by the couple’s son who fought them off.
Police said that several children were present at the home at the time of the break-in but none were harmed.
Anyone with relevant dashcam footage or CCTV footage are being urged to contact police.
