Parents of 21-year-old Kye Schaefer, who was fatally stabbed at a popular tourist spot in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, are pleading for information.
The tragic incident occurred on May 2 when emergency services rushed to Ocean Parade in Coffs Harbour following reports of a stabbing.

Schaefer was found beside his orange Ford Falcon with severe injuries to his neck and chest.
Despite efforts by paramedics, he later died at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
Kye’s parents, Tony and Pam Schaefer, are urging the perpetrator to come forward as authorities continue their investigation without any arrests made thus far.
“Just be honest and own up to your mistakes in life. Everyone makes them,” Tony Schaefer said.
“If you think of anything at all – you may not think it is important, yet it might be something that makes the difference,” Pam Schaefer said.
“No words can describe how we’re feeling, the sheer loss of our faith in humanity.”
Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty described the attack as “random and unprovoked”.
“The local community have been so supportive. We thank everyone very much for the assistance and help given us through these hard times.”
