Latest Newspoll numbers have revealed the No vote for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament is officially in majority.
The latest numbers for The Australian show support for the Voice has fallen to 38 per cent, while those intending to vote No has risen to 53 per cent.
Those deciding to vote against the constitutionally enshrined voice and executive government has become a majority for the first time since polling began.
It was also revealed support for the Coalition has reached its highest since the May 2022 election, leading the primary vote against Labor, 37 per cent to 35 per cent.
The Coalition’s support rose following Prime Minster Anthony Albanese’s announcing the referendum will be held on October 14.
However, Labor remains ahead on a two-party preferred basis, leading the Coalition 53-47 per cent.
Mr Albanese’s popularity has fallen into the negatives for the first time since becoming prime minister, the latest numbers showing a drop from 52 to 46 per cent.
The Newspoll numbers comes after the launch of the Yes campaign’s new advertisement featuring John Farnham’s “You’re the Voice”.
About 30,000 Yes campaigners will begin their six-week campaign this week across the country, participating in more than 700 activities.
Yes23 Campaign Director Dean Parkin said it would be a “massive week” for engaging with Australians who are not certain they’d be voting Yes.
“Our volunteers will be everywhere, and I encourage Australians to have a conversation and learn more about the importance of voting Yes on 14 October,” Mr Parkin said.
“We are rolling out the biggest campaign this country has ever seen.
“We want to make sure that every voter has the opportunity to have a conversation about why voting Yes will bring about positive change for this nation.”
