The American Airlines flight had been carrying 60 people and four crew members.

The Black Hawk chopper had three soldiers on board, with both aircrafts crashing into the Potomac River.

It’s the first fatal airline crash in the United States since 2009.

The President says he’s been briefed and seemed to imply the helicopter crew or air traffic control tower was responsible for the collision. Donald Trump provided no further evidence that this was the case.

While at a press briefing, Trump used the opportunity to rant about diversity hiring policies within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“The initiative is part of the FAA’s Diversity and inclusion hiring plan, which says diversity is integral to achieving FAA’S mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel. Don’t think. I don’t think. I think it’s just the opposite.”

He’s saying diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies at the body may have lead to incompetent air traffic controllers.

However, these claims that have not been backed up with evidence.
