A man has died in a police shooting in inner Sydney on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were to a Franklyn Street home at around 11:50PM to perform a welfare check on a man.
When they arrived at the scene, police were confronted by a 43-year-old man allegedly holding a knife.
One of the officers fired a taser at the man while the second officer fired a gun.
Paramedics were called to the scene where they attempted to great the man who died a short time later.
A full investigation has been launched into the man’s death as police await a report from the coroner.
