Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott first met as grid girls and connected immediately, but little did they know their friendship would turn into one of the most popular podcasts in Australia.
The duo is behind the podcast Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki, where they chat about everything from relationships to sex, running a fashion brand, and being a woman in your 30s.
Lucy and Nikki have described their friendship as a marriage, and when they started their fashion label, Jagger & Stone, in 2018, their friendship only became more intertwined.
In this chat with Antoinette Lattouf, Lucy and Nikki explain why being in your 30s is better than being in your 20s and how they balance being business partners and besties.
“You are so much more sure of yourself [in your 30s]. You have pretty much found your people in terms of your friendships,” Nikki said.
“I feel like; if there was anyone that was ever really maybe not aligning, they’re probably weeded out by then.”
Lucy added, “It’s like your 20s but you’re richer. We still have that lifestyle that we’ve had in our 20s, like we still go out all the time and socialise but you just don’t have to worry about spending $18.00 on a Smirnoff Double Black.
On a serious level, Lucy said she had also been able to find herself, with her 30s being a time of self exploration.
“I think when you’re in your 30s as a woman… we are essentially like a biological clock.
“You do have a certain sense of you really do want to figure your shit out… if you do want to have kids.”
You can hear Lucy and Nikki’s thoughts on starting their own families among other conversations women in their 20s and 30s are having on the latest episode of The Weekend Briefing.
