Actor Kevin Spacey has been acquitted of sexual assault charges in a UK court room on Thursday.
The 64-year-old wept as a verdict of not guilty was read after Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting four men.
The Oscar-winner was cleared of nine sexual offences against the four men following a four-week trial at the Southwark Crown Court in London.
Addressing the media outside the court room following the verdict, Spacey thanked the jurors for finding him not guilty.
“I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today,” he said.
“But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts, carefully, before they reached their decision. And I am humbled by the outcome today.
“I also want to thank the staff inside this courthouse, the security, and all those who took care of us every single day, my legal team … for being here every day.”
The actor was trialled for the accused sexual assault of four men aged in their 20’s and 30’s between 2004 and 2013.
