A three-day coronial inquest will begin today into the 2016 disappearance of Zac Barnes.
Mr Barnes was 18 years old when his friends reported his last sighting. He jumped out of a friend’s car and ran into nearby bushland.

He had initially asked his friends to drop him off at the Thornton Railway Station on November 13, 2016, but then asked to stop on the corner of Tripp Close and Haussman Drive, running into the bushlands.
Despite a large-scale search of the bushlands, Mr Barnes was never located.
Deputy State Coroner Carmel Forbes will preside over the inquest at Lidcombe’s NSW Corners Court.
Attempts will be made to consider if Mr Barnes has died since his disappearance.
The inquest is also expected to investigate emergency services responses and if there has been any indication Mr Barnes is alive since he was last seen.
Mr Barnes family and police have continued their efforts in seeking assistance from the public, but have been unsuccessful.
When Mr Barnes was last seen, he had was wearing a faded blue singlet, dark blue shorts, and blue work boots. He has a VB logo tattooed on his right calf.
