Four teenagers have been charged with murder after two young brothers were stabbed in Sydney’s west on Friday.
According to NSW Police, the stabbing occurred near a school on Power Street in Doonside around 3:40pm, following a confrontation that originated on a bus.
The argument escalated into violence, leading to the fatal stabbings which resulted in the death of an 18–year-old and left another injured.
The 19-year-old was rushed to Westmead Hospital, where he underwent surgery and has since been discharged.
Shortly after the incident, a 16-year-old was apprehended near the scene and charged with murder.
He appeared in court on Saturday and was denied bail.
Police say the investigations surrounding the attack are ongoing, with authorities exploring possible links to youth crime rivalries.
Superintendent Paul Glinn, Commander of Blacktown Police Area Command (PAC), said: “A bus has gone to the area to a bus stop, a number of youths have got off that bus and a melee has taken place with some other youths.”
“[They] had the intent of taking them somewhere to get medical treatment, and then on route to a hospital has come to the police station [Blacktown] to seek help,” Superintendent Glinn said on Friday.
